B2 Boutique Hotel, Hürlimann Area Zurich

© Boutique Hotel Zürich

The former above-ground laboratories and offices of the Hürlimann brewery in Zurich were converted into the B2  boutique hotel and thermal spa. The aim was to preserve the architectural history of the brewery contained within the old walls and to use the presence of the strong, authentic structures for the new.

The 4-star hotel is now located in these historic parts of the building  and a house within a house was built in the brewery's historic cooling ship.

After gutting the historic and listed Hürlimann brewery building, building physics investigations were started with the support of Baumann Akustik und Bauphysik AG.

The almost invisible ventilation installation was embedded in the existing vaults.

Philipp Kunze was responsible for the ventilation planning, the development of several special air outlets, the technical site management during the execution and commissioning.
